Just like the name suggests, the Sirius is a luxurious, versatile aircraft making it a standout in the light sport category. Per Greek astronomy, Sirius means the brightest star in the night sky. This aircraft has lived up to its name with an undisputed reputation for reliability, ease of handling, predictability, and comfort.
In production for 25 years with over 300 deliveries worldwide, this custom-built E/AB MOSAIC-ready aircraft has proven its worth with flight schools, corporate executives, and family-fliers. The clean, flowing lines of the Sirius evoke a profile of a modern aircraft that looks impressive in the air and on the runway.
The cockpit design of the Sirius addresses pilots and crew of all shapes and sizes. The 2-seat high-wing has easy access and provides ample space for “well-built” pilots and crew with a 45” cockpit. The large doors open upwards and are held in place by hydraulic struts making entry and exit into the aircraft easy for those with reduced flexibility. Even individuals up to 6’6” will have plenty of headroom. The bottom edge of the door is intentionally designed to be located below seat-level making entry easy for shorter pilots.
The TL engineers paid great attention to the design and aerodynamics of the carbon-fiber composite aircraft which allow it to perform perfectly at low speed thanks to the large wing area and electric flaps. At high speeds, the aerodynamic cleanness of the aircraft offers impressive performance with low fuel consumption. From just above the stall through fast cruise, the performance will surprise you. Even strong crosswind landings are no challenge for the Sirius.
Engine options for the Sirius include Rotax (912ULS/iS, 914iS, 916iS) and Turbotech (Turboprop TP-R90). Planning your destinations will be exciting with a 750-mile range.
The Sirius is configured with the latest in glass panel technology including the Garmin Dual GDU 460 G3X touch display and Garmin GDU 450 G3X single display and the GARMIN Autopilot with control panel GMC 507. A well-appointed leather interior and heated leather seats will envelop you during chilly flights. All the controls are well-arranged for an easy scan and located within easy reach. The steering yokes with PTT and adjustable rudder pedals are provided for both pilot and copilot.
Here are additional features of the Sirius.
- Ever considered an amphibian? The Sirius can be outfitted with floats.
- Looking for an aero-towing aircraft? Sirius’ aerodynamics, large wings and effective flaps make it capable of towing gliders.
- If aerial photography interests you, the cabin door can be opened in flight or easily removed on the ground.
Additional options include but are not limited to IFR capability, Oxygen, and design of custom paint scheme.
Every Sirius is custom ordered, built, and delivered with the same passion and commitment to quality as the first TL aircraft over 35 years ago.
